HP introduced their first laptop computer in 1984.  It weighed 8 pounds and cost
$3000.  They have come a long way since then. HP now has 4 distinct lines of laptop computers and 17 models to chose from.  The lines include Mini-notebooks, Everyday Computing, Ultra Portable and High Performance options.  All are touted as being loaded
with performance, affordability and packing all the power needed in a portable
computer. Depending on what the desires of the computer user are, HP appears to
have a wide variety of options for any laptop needs.

Mini-notebooks

The mini-laptop is designed to be a companion pc to theprimary computer. When travel is necessary or simple web searches and email responses are needed.  It is lightweight and affordable. The mini-notebook has limited functions, short battery life, narrow media options, small keyboard and less than high resolution display. The mini is perfect for web surfing, note taking and sending and receiving email.

Everyday Computing
Hp’s everyday computing laptops are compact, lightweight and offer everything that is needed for day to day computing. They range in price from $380 to $750. The battery is a 6 to 8 cell, which provides 4 to 6 hours of battery life. The laptops range from computers designed for every day tasks, word processing, emailing and web searches to lap tops with the ability to create songs, edit photos and videos, sketch and draw along with limited media options.

Ultra Portable
The ultra portable lines of HP laptops are super slim choices designed for a lightweight feel and full performance.  Weighing between 3 and 5 pounds, they are sleek and thin with slightly more functionality yet a similar price range of the HP computing laptop. The ultra portables are intended to appeal to those who not only care about he look of their computer but want a powerful unit with increased entertainment and multi media options.

High Performance

HP’s high performance laptops are a little more bulky than the previous laptop options, weighing between 6 and 9 pounds. With a price range of $650 to $2,000, the laptops have an ultra large display, a more powerful processor, high-speed wireless, upgraded graphics and touch screen options. This line of laptops is a great alternative to a desktop PC with high
quality gaming and entertainment options.

HP has a wide variety of laptop choices whether size, functionality, or performance there is a laptop option available.
